Description - Description: The Cokeries du Brabant site is located north of the center of Grimbergen, between the Eppegemsesteenweg and the Oostvaartdijk, near Verbrande Brug. A coking plant was active at this location until the 1970s, which caused historical soil contamination. After the coking plant was demolished, other operations were active and still exist. This contamination on and from this site has been investigated in various descriptive soil surveys. The remediation of this site is being done in phases, both spread over time and spread out on the site. Several phased soil remediation projects have already been drawn up and are in progress.
