Description - Description: The South Surrey Interceptor – Delta Section – is a set of twin sanitary sewers, running parallel to Hwy 91, between the grit chamber on River Road and manholes 10E and 10W, just north of 72nd Ave. The sewers are 1,524 mm x 1,829 mm box culverts between manholes 10E/10W and 1E/1W (a distance of approximately 2.9km, 1727mm circular concrete pipe from 1E/1W to 20m south of the grit chamber (a distance of 144m), and 1829mm circular concrete pipe for the remaining 20m. The sewers were constructed in 1978. Following a series of leaks, Metro Vancouver have performed a condition assessment on the Delta Section of the South Surrey Interceptor.
